{Can't believe we're old enough for this!}

I so can't believe my kids are big enough to take classes!
Alenna will be in Princess Dance starting in June, its this adorable class were they highlight a different princess each week, how sweet is that? Then in July she starts swimming class! She will also start preschool in August!

Brady and I will be taking a mommy and me swimming class in June as well. I'm excited to spend some one on one time with my little man!

When people talk about how fast kids grow, they weren't kidding!

Tuesdays are always a bit insane, that's Ryan's day off so we cram just about as much as we can into those 24 hours! This day we made it a priority to have some dedicated family time.
So we though it would be fun to take the kids to freestone Park to ride the train...
Little did I know that they are only open weekends...dang...
Poor Brady fell asleep on the way there!

Alenna and mommy waiting for dad to show up
We saw a mother duck who had 14 babies!
there were ducklings everywhere!
Totally adorable...
We didn't realize you aren't suppose to feed ducks yeast.
Only seeds and duck feed you get from the store.
learn something new everyday I guess!
Alenna is obsessed with flowers! Everywhere we go she HAS to pick one.
my angel is almost 6 months old! Odd to think when Brady was this age I was already pregnant again!
*****************************
 we love ducks we decided.
***************************
Because the train was closed we played on the play equipment...
for about 5 minutes! Then we decided it was too hot so we went home...

this about sums up how we were feeling...

{Swimming In April?!}

I know I don't have long because my kids have been asleep for 4 hours!
All three of them! Lets see if I can pound out an entry!

First off, my crazy husband and kids went swimming yesterday! I checked the calender, and yup it still April!
Alenna is dancing in this picture, she's happy to have a new swim suit....
Aren't they the cutest in their new suits???
This kid cracks me up, he has got the most expressive personality!
 More Brady being...well Brady...
they decided it may be too cold after all so they dunked their feet instead.
They loved it
************************
he's yummy....

they have so much fun together
******************************
with daddy's help, Alenna picked a zucchini from the garden which we then had for dinner.
it cracks me up how every time someone turns the lights off, Shaylin's eyes get HUGE!

the kids working their artistic skills....

After, Ryan took out his trombone and played a little, Alenna followed suite.
How cute is she playing???
I also took out a flute from storage and tried to play, I have forgotten everything!
(don't tell my parents ;) )

{The Bee's Kness...}

Ladies and Gentlemen
as I was running one day with Shaylin in tote (training for my 10k continues...) minding my own business,  I hear this buzzing around my head. I bat at the annoyance and assume its just a fly or something....Then I have the sense to look at where I'm batting and there is a freaking carpenter bee (or June bug, as we call them) following me!
For those of you who may not know what these lovely creatures are, let me fill you in: they are black bees and their bodies are like 10x the size of their freakishly small wings and they throw their weight here and there (especially against glass windows of the house.)
cute little bee Pictures, Images and Photos
{Like this guy, but ALL black)
I keep batting at it and the dang thing just wouldn't leave me alone. At this point I'm fumbling all over myself, and the street, trying to get this thing away from me!
Finally it retreated and this is what I found I had done to my knees...
this was taken several days after, so the bruising WAS alot worse...
Then after this tramatic event passed I realize there is a freaking honey bee on my stroller! Just lazin' around...close to my baby's head. At this point I'm miles from the house...
whats a girl to do??
I tried shoo-ing it, I tried throwing rocks at it, I tried everything! Now you have to realize I'm deathly afraid of ALL bees, so this is very tramatic for me!
So I rationally and calmy decide I'm just going to keep running...I'm sure it will just fly away soon enough right??
Wrong!
Not only did it stay there the entire run home, but all night and the next morning as I passed the stroller to get into the car THERE it was just looking up at me! I couldn't believe it!
(and no, it wasn't injured because the house keeper accidentally left the garage door open and it FLEW into the house! we have yet to find it....)
Bees....WTF????

{It Should Be Said...}

a sweet posting about my sweetie last month for our anniversary...it's now April 13th...
hmmmm....where did the time go...
better late than never...here goes, this one's for you babe!

let me take you on a journey to a time long ago...ya know, five years-two houses- three kids ago....
the year was 2004...it was fall...fall in the valley is beautiful.
the story goes something like this....
Institute at MCC was just starting up, I decided I would take a class
first day, i couldn't decided which class to take, I felt something pull me into the Book of Mormon class.
I sat next to him. 'well, what do we have here?', I thought.. 'Pretty cute'
The roll was passed around and I didnt have a pen, so very smoothly I asked to borrow one from him.
so i marked my name with his pen.
and that was it.
several weeks passed, we didnt talk more than average class particiaption
i thought he was very funny, i always enjoyed his comments. i felt a connection to him.
odd seeing as how i didn't even know his name...
one day he said something clever as he walked in (late) to class and i flashed him my best smile
he made eye contact and looked away...
'ouch' i thought...'what a jerk'
a week later, my 'friends' in that class all decided to be dumb and not talk to me (being single-i DO NOT miss you, but they did me the biggest favor of my life!) so I went to sit by the cute loner in the back of the class. him.
we chatted like we old friends. like a long lost friend, i felt we had our whole lives to catch up on.
class started and we were made to pair up in groups, by our last names...so I had to move..darn it....
than as i was leaving class, i saw him paired up with another girl talking. and it hit me they looked really good together....
'well that's the end of that...' i thought trying to brush it off, realizing it cut deeper than i wanted to admit
i went home after a long day and later recieved a phone call. from him.
'oh good! he likes me back! but...
i don't remember giving him my number' i thought as we talked.
he apoligized for the forewardness and told me he got my number off the attentance roll
(which I found out later wasn't true- i wasnt on the roll because I enrolled late, so he had to track our teacher down and beg him to get it off the Institute records, haha)
we talked for an hour, which seemed like 2 minutes and we agreed to go out the next night.
so we did....

he showed up with a single red rose which he offered me.
'cheesy' i thought...although my breathe caught in my throat...'it works...'
our date went wonderfully and I teased him he wouldn't call me...
...and than he didn't.
no calls. he wasn't at class all week either.
'what. the. heck?? was he like totally blowing me off or what?!'
i threw myself on my parents' bed, bawling my eyes out. they reminded me I did 'technically' have two boyfriends at the time...
"screw them!! I want RYAN to like me!"

so finally, a week later, he calls. he'd been busy at work blah blah blah and asked me to go out again.
'uh-uh..'i thought, 'i'm gonna string this guy along...'
i declined several of the days he suggested, i really was busy but i didn't feel one bit guilty about it!
finally, i agreed he could pick me up after work and we would go to dinner.
we did, than went to a park and talked for hours (a common thing we would do)
we got along so well. like a hand in a custom glove.
and that was that...he was the mac to my cheese....
and boy, did i fall hard...
i knew there would be no recovering if this love ended...he was my love suicide.

best. friend. of. all. time.
we were inseperable!
the first time he kissed me i literally saw fireworks and i knew i would marry him.
than my grandparents visited and they really liked him, we recieved our answer in so many ways-our hearts were so full and we couldn't wait to make it official!
i begged him to slap a ring on my finger, i couldn't wait to shout it from the roof tops!
but he took his own perfect time, which looking back was nice, though i wondered why at the time he wasn't asking.
we dated from Oct to Dec, got engaged Dec 31st, and were married for time and all Eternity March 11th 2005.

i often tease him about the time I smiled at him in class and he blew me off...
he says that he thought i was so pretty that it took his breath away and by the time his brain caught up to real time it was too late to smile back so he just awkwardly looked away....
i guess i'll believe him....;)

there are alot of times i miss 'the beginning.'
i dont think that ever goes away, just goes to show myself i have loved as truely and deeply as i possibly can.
So, Jacob Ryan Bergen...from here to Eternity!

{Girls' Room}

As promised, here are pictures of my recent projects in the girls' room
Keep in mind this is all temporary, we're moving next year.
But I wanted to "girly" up their room in the mean time!
I took 4 of some old picture frames I have, covered them with scrapbook paper and than brushed them with Mod Pouge (my new love!)
two are of Alenna and two of of Shaylin
their room is ginormous!
biggest room in the house I think!
good thing too, alenna has a queen bed and shaylin will have a crib (soon)
sorry the pics are so dark, alenna was sleeping so i didn't wat to turn on the lights
i love block letters...in shopping for some on the internet I found the average price to be around $20...A LETTER!!
Screw that! I went to Micheals' and made BOTH girls' entire names for a fraction of that

this is my favorite...too bad it too dark to really tell
alenna's name, this is over her bed
the princess herself doing what mommy loves most...she's sleeping

my angel is getting so big!

{Bergens, Bunny, & Babies!}

happy easter!
we started the week with a trip to Bass Pro Shops to see the bunny!
brady was especailly cute with the bunny, and alenna thought he was a pet!
here he is while we stand in line, he was very intrigued.

both the kids were adorable. no tears. just smiles.

and the sweet jelly beans didn't hurt either! ;)
On Saturday night we set out cookies and a letter along with our eggs and hoped the bunny found us!

Shaylin thinks the bunny will bring her candy.

brady ate some of the cookies we set out...little stinker.

get us in bed!!!
Easter morning Alenna woke up and found most of the eggs by herself,
dang...

she was nice enough to share her findings with brady...they were half his!

luckily she didn't find her basket until mommy was up!

we broke into our baskets and watched "The Princess & The Frog"

alenna got a tea set...too bad brady broke one of her cups...

the kids in their new church clothes they got from the bunny!
how cute are my kids?

we spent the day at Mema & Papa Howard's house.
they hid eggs and Alenna found them all!

my beautiful gal...looking for her eggs!

this is shaylin & sylvia...birthday twins! shaylin is twice her size!

lenny had a picnic in the beautiful spring afternoon
we spent a lovely day there, had a family dinner with great grandma and papa Bergen.
than we raced home to see our daddy! (he was at work)
we LOVE easter!
