Our Attitude of Gratitude

Seeing as how Thanksgiving is tomorrow, I always like to list just a few things we are grateful for:

(These are HUGE generalizations)

Lynette:

1) Our family's good health (And our family! Not only the 4 of us, but the extended families as well!)

2)Ryan's employment with good health insurance

3) My Beautiful Kids! (and the fact they are sleeping through the night. And Brady's beautiful smile he just started showing us!)

4) Good renters and the fact that despite the bad economy we still have been able to make all our payments to all our debtors.

5) The Gospel, of course. The Peace that comes with living it as well.

Ryan:

1) Family

2) Health

Alenna: (I just asked her what she liked and took the 1st four things she said!)

1) Me-Ma and PaPa (my parents)

2) Tatie and RyRy (Katie and Sariah)

3)Mommy and Daddy (notice how we are third, not first)

4)Brady-Man( I was impressed she said Brady instead of Elmo)

As look over this list, I realize there are hundreds of other things I am constantly realizing I am grateful for! Even little things like the dishwasher. I am so grateful for the fact I don't have to wash every stinking dish by hand! Or the fact that we don't have to buy expensive, and not nearly as good, formula for our babies. Also, I am grateful that I live in a time of modern medicine. I am grateful that I was able to get things like an Epidural, and Tylenol. I am also grateful for the fact that we have a healthy baby that was born to us without any complications during pregnancy or delivery.

I love this time of year. It is especially wonderful to us because the Thanksgiving weekend is the weekend Ryan and I prayed and received an astounding "YES!" to whether we should get married. So, over all, Thanksgiving is a special time for Ryan and I and our sweet family.

I am also grateful for Ryan, and the wonderful husband he is to me. He works so hard, and I am so grateful to him for it. So many days he is sick, or in pain (he has a bad knee and bad back) and he, without complaining, gets up and goes to work. In many marriages, it is the wife that drags the family to church, but in our family its Ryan that drags us!-Its pretty mutuel, but he is the stronger one is our family. When I am sick and he could possibly have a "freebie" from church, he still goes, even if he is sick as well. I just love that about him, he is such a strong Priesthood holder. I am so grateful I don't have to fight him to do the right things. When ever we have a problem, the first thing he says is, "Lets pray about it." I am so grateful for such a spiritual giant in my home, I don't think I could ever truly express to him how much that means to me. Ryan is also a wonderful father. He is so good with our kids, sometimes I feel like HE should stay at home with them and I should go to work. He is so patient. He gets down on the floor and plays with our kids, even after a long day, and all he wants to do is sleep. And he can always make me laugh, we have the best time together. I love you honey, and am so grateful for all you do.

That's amazing I really enjoyed reading this post!!! I'm also grateful to live in the time I do now!! I don't think I would've been a very good pioneer.

Oh my goodness! I know! For my book club we read "Fire of the Covenant" which, if you haven't read it, is a pioneer story about the Willie and Martin Handcart Company, and I cried through the whole thing! There is NO WAY I could have made it! They say that the struggles we go through in this life, in this time in history is just as spiritually as bad as it was back then physically. I just think to myself, I would much rather have to be spiritually strong than have to deal with things like my baby dying from the flu, or something!
