Ok, so its 12:00 am and everyone in the house is asleep but me. I am afraid I am developing a case of Insomnia.
I figured I would give an update on how our babies are doing, as if this blog wasn't enough of a tribute to them!
I will start with Miss. Alenna:
Alenna is 2 now, believe that or not. It seriously seems like she was just born! Everyday she is saying something new, and expressing ideas and sentances of her own. When she eats, she is very picky, she must have a sippy cup of milk, sit in her own chair, have everything on her plate mommy and daddy have on theirs', and she must have a towel to keep her hands clean. Alenna is working on potty-training. We almost had her trained, then we went to Utah and totally un-did all our hard work! Anways, she is slowly warming up to the idea of that again. She has devoloped a habit of asking permission to do every little stupid thing. Case of point, yesterday she had a full body for like 10 minutes and kept saying this same sentance over and over again that, for the life of me, I couldn't understand! Finally, a light clicked on in my brain, and I asked, "You want to sit on the couch?"
Frustrated and with tears streaming down her face she sighs, "YES!" Like, 'Duh Mommy!'
My goodness child, you don't have to ask over every little thing, is a frequent expression I am finding myself telling her. Alenna loves church. Anyone who has lived here in AZ knows there is a church on every corner, and anytime we pass one in the truck she points and yells, "Church!" And starts singing 'The Itsy Bitsy Spider." She must have picked that up from nursery. Alenna cannot say Brady. She thinks his name is Baby. I think we did a huge disservice to her in not naming him until he was born, plus Brady and Baby are very close sounding.
So, no one tells you this before you have kids, but every day is such a roller coaster! Seriously, one minute the kids will be laughing and playing together and I will think to myself, "Ah, this isn't so bad. Maybe one more would be fun." Without fail, the very next second they are both screaming and in fits. And I think to myself, "I can't even handle the kids I have!" Take this sitution and imagine it happening over and over all day and thats an average day at the Bergen house.
I really do enjoy the time I get with them though. They are the best thing I have ever done. I am so grateful I get to stay at home with them all day and mold them into the little angels they are becoming! The good times are great and even at their worst, they really aren't that bad. I am very lucky!
I will finish with Mr. Brady:
He's a big kid, we know, we hear it all the time. He is so opposite of how Alenna was. She has always been real thin and he is just a tank. All boy! We weighed him on Thanksgiving and he was 18lbs, yeah huge for a 3 month old! Anyways, we weighed him tonight and he is still 18lbs, which means, I think, that he has plateud for a while. He is so cuddley. He wants what he wants and there is no changing his mind. Hopefully he can use that to cure a disease or something! He has a little temper on him. Don't cross Brady. If he could smack you, he would. So, between Alenna's mood swings and Brady's temper, I think we are in for a couple crazy years! Other than the occasional temper-flair, Brady is pretty easy-going. Thankfully. Brady isn't rolling yet, thats ok, everyone does things at their own pace. He is at the point though, when he gets his legs kicking real strong he will totally turn himself 360 degrees! Brady is now 4 months old, and has the sweetest little smile; you cannot not smile around that kid! When he's not pissed, that is! Brady favors his mommy, but will tolerate his daddy for short peroids of time. Brady loves to watch his big sister! Alenna is his favorite thing to watch.
"Though babies grow and walk outside their mother's womb, they always remain a part of her."

Brady is like Ryan...solid and thick but not fat..lol Katie points out all the churchs too. I love it!
Your kids are adorable! Cute how she starts singing when she sees a church!
It's fun to read about your sweet kids! Keep documenting these times because they grow too stinkin' fast.
This is so sweet and I totally understand what you mean! My girls are totally different and one minute they love one another and next hate eachother!!! I to have the two children and no peace until 12 am insomnia as well! It seems that the only time I can actually think is when I am alone and when the babies go to bed, that is tj and mine time, and then he goes to bed so I can wind down! Man it is horrible because then I get like 6 hours of sleep and then back to the grind!!! Oh well hopefully our children will love us more when they are like 20! LOL!!!
haha SERIOUSLY. I hate staying up so late, but I feel like thats the only time I have to stop and BREATHE! Its totally just me un-winding time. The only thing that would make it better is if Ryan stayed up with me, but he crashs about the time the kids do too. Oh well, I SHOULD use that time to do something constructive, like get my degree on line, but I just end up dinkin' around in facebook. Nice Lynette, Nice.
