Our Day At The Park

So, today I took the babies to the park down the street from our house. It was perfect park-weather!!

I kind of panicked a little when we got there and I realized it was for big kids, but Alenna climbed everything like a pro! She's always been a climber.

Is he not the sweetest lil' guy??

They had this rock step thing you had to climb up to get to the slide and Alenna was amazing at it! Really, I was very proud of her because its intended for older children, and not 2 year olds!

Happy Brady having a snack. In not too long he will be wobbling around after his big sis!

Ah, -tear- for mommy!

He was really very content the whole time. Like this.

I climbed to the top of this big play thing to show Alenna how to do it. The park is right next to an elementary school and the kids were all out for recess. Several of the kids were yelling, "Look at that lady! She is playing on the toys!" They, of course were referring to me, and I felt a little silly, but maybe I will be considered a "cool mom" if I remain active in my kids' lives.

So earlier, we had a little scare. I was sitting in the family room using our coffee table to put my breakfast on and as I am biting into a piece of toast, I hear Brady coughing a little, so I turn my head to find Alenna shoving Ryan's keys up Brady's nose! I was sitting right next to them on the couch, and dropped everything to pull the keys out of his little nostrils. He was fine, didn't even whimper, as a matter of fact they were both laughing. Probably at my silly over-reaction. So, no harm done....but it sure got my blood pumping! I returned to finish my toast and couldn't find it on my plate! I figured I had finished it, though I couldn't remember finishing it. Hmm, odd....oh well. Later as I was cleaning up the family room, I found my toast lying jam-faced down on the carpet! Nice. In my panicked state to get the keys out of Brady's nose, I must have just flung it in the air and forgotten about it.

Odd how a mommy's mind works!

You poor baby! I know the feeling
! You have two beautiful babies!!! Man they are adorable! The worst is when they do things that could be bad, right next to you and you do not realize it. It happens to all of us, if it didnt you wouldnt be human!

My very worst fear is having my head turned for just a second and having something horrible happen, like Alenna jamming the keys in Brady's eyes, or ears or something, for example. Its all just in play, she adores him, but still, she doesn't know her own strength. At least if something does happen, at least I know its not out of hostilty. All fun and games till someones looses an eye!
